Computer Tutorial: 10:00- 11:00 a.m.

The computer tutorial reviews and demonstrates basic computer skills. The goal of the computer tutorial is to introduce the computer and its basic functions to those with little or no computer experience. At the end of each 4-week tutorial client’s will be introduced to the functions of the keyboard, basic letter writing, and obtain an email address.
Community Cooking Class:

Community Commitment has partnered with local chefs and the Love in Action Food Bank to bring community members good information about healthy eating choices. Each week a local chef comes and guides the class as they prepare a healthy meal. Once the class is complete the class members are given food items to prepare at home for their families. Each class can hold 15 persons and we ask for a 4 week commitment.
The Reading Hour:(Currently on Hold)

The Reading Hour is designed as a community wide, open book club. The Reading Hour caters to those who would like to improve their reading and comprehension skills, and to those who would simply like to listen. Each month a different book is chosen and read. Those who attend will read or follow along as the book is read for thirty minutes. After portions of the book have been read a discussion about the book will occur.
Man Talk: Men Only (On Hold) Saturday 12:00 - 2:00 pm 8540 Spruce St. New Orleans, La. 70118
Man Talk is designed to allow men to talk with other men, about being a man. The goal of Man Talk is to educate, inspire, and lead. The conversation topics will change weekly. Some examples of topics are: The male body, monogamy, religion, and personal finances.

Women of all ages gather and discuss important topics concerning females in today's society. Each week the topics and presenters will change. Our Mission is to educate women about the important roles they have played in the past to accurately shape their role in today's world.
Social Skills Training: Parenting Tools and Tips (On Hold)
Thursday (Adult) 11:00- 1:00 pm and Saturday (Youth) 10:00 - 11:00 pm 8540 Spruce St. New Orleans LA. 70118
For the adults we offer information sessions geared towards strengthening the relationships between the child and his or her parent/grandparent. We educate class members on current events/trends and provide information to assist with problems their child may be having at school or at home. Our goal with Parenting Tools and Tips sessions are to close the communication gaps between children and their parents.
Training will be offered to school age youth and adults looking for tools to improve their behavior, and reduce their negative responses to anger and life stressors. Group members may be referred by: schools, churches, families, and even the juvenile court system. Social Skills tools such as Aggression Replacement Therapy, Second Step, and Adolescent Journey of Hope will be used over a 6 to 10 week period to teach behavior modification skills.

Community members gather to watch past box office favorites free of charge. The goal of Movie Day is to provide community members with an opportunity to gather safely and communicate with their neighbors.
