Community Commitment's Word of the Day, December 11, 2019
Life-Something we are determined we can live on our own. It has challenges that must be achieved and hurdles that must be crossed. It takes trial and error to call it a success. It recognizes that fear is natural, and no matter how much we think we have done on our own, there was someone before us paving the path we are reshaping. Life is defined as Team Work. NLB

Our Mission

The Community Commitment Education Center was founded on the premise of one neighbor helping another. Our primary goal is to connect the people of our community with the available resources.  Community Commitment strives to serve the community through the development of:

        * Community Advocacy
        * Improved Communication Skills for Adults and the Elderly
        * Social Skills Training for Adolescents and Young Adults
        * Emergency Assistance to Families in Need

Community Advocacy - Once a client has requested our assistance with the preparation of documents or identifies a need for advocacy, a representative from the Community Commitment agency will work with the client to insure that his or her rights are identified and protected.

Improved Communication - Adult clients that may have problems with literacy or basic computer skills may receive tutoring on a weekly basis through small group or individualized instruction.

Social Skills Training - Training will be offered to school age youth and young adults looking for tools to improve their behavior and reduce their negative response to anger and life stressors.

Emergency Assistance - Financial assistance may be given to our low income clients who are in need of housing placement, the prevention of an eviction, or the disconnection of their home utility services.

Word of the Day - Each day a different word will appear on the Community Commitment website; its meaning defined by Nicole L Bouie. The definitions are intended to inspire positive change in the lives of our clients and those who view the website.
